Welcome

Professor Erwin Tschachler

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 24th EADV Congress which will be organised at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark from 7–11 October, 2015. I am looking forward to welcoming you to Europe’s biggest meeting of dermatology and venereology where the latest cutting edge research and newest developments in our fields will be presented.

Both the EADV and their Congresses have been continuously developing, both in scale and scope. Our vision is to foster progress in clinical care and promote scientific excellence related to dermato-venereology for the benefit of patients with skin diseases. We anticipate that the numbers of participants will further increase and that we will reach to new audiences and regions. At the Congress in Copenhagen our Scientific Programming Committee with its chairman Prof. Martin Röcken, will be introducing a new programme format, with sessions of different levels of teaching to enable participants to optimise their session selection to best meet their professional needs and to maximise their learning outcome. We expect participants to return home with new insights and skills, new ideas and inspirations as well as pleasant memories shared with friends and colleagues.

Copenhagen, the biggest Scandinavian city, is officially recognised as the “European Green City of 2014” and the Bella Center is one of the world’s most sustainable and state-of-the-art venues, equipped with the latest design and technology for staging conferences and is also located less than 10 minutes from both the airport and the city centre. As the Academy continues to follow environmentally friendlier and sustainable Congress solutions, the host location perfectly suits this commitment.

If you find some spare time after the scientific sessions, you will be fascinated by exploring the city of Hans Christian Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard. If you want to clear your head you might even consider visiting the world’s oldest amusement park, the “Bakken”, or its newer version the Tivoli. The pleasant season at the beginning of October is the ideal time to do so.

Save the date and join us next autumn to make this 24th EADV Congress, with your participation, an outstanding scientific meeting.

På gensyn – See you soon

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Erwin Tschachler, MD
EADV President  (2014-2016)
