Basic Surgery Workshop

In the first part of the session we will briefly review facial anatomy, nerve-block and different suture possibilities. Participants will exercise suturing in small groups. The second part will focus on the principles of flaps and grafts. The different techniques will be discussed and made vivid with lots of pictures followed by hands-on training in groups. During the training a film of different mohssurgery-sessions will be shown to visualize all procedures.

Learning objectives of the workshop are:

1) to understand facial anatomy in correlation to local anesthesia in the face

2) to review suture techniques

3) to learn the principles of flaps and grafts. Hands-on training in suturing and in flaps/grafts will e provided.  This session can be attended by beginners as well as intermediate-surgery-skilled dermatologists.

Potential participants who would like to explore and discuss advanced skin surgery are encouraged to register for the Advanced Skin Surgery Workshop offered on 9 October 2015 from 10:30-12:00 and again at 14:30-16:00.
