- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- No identifying features such as names of hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be mentioned in the title or text of the abstract. Do not include the names of the Authors either. Their names and affiliations (institutions) will be registered separately when submitting the abstract online.
- The material in the abstract must be original and may not have been previously published.
- The title should be as brief as possible, but long enough to clearly indicate the content of the study. Abbreviations in the title are not allowed. The title should not be written entirely in capital letters (e.g. NOT LIKE THIS).
- Structure your abstract using the following subheadings:
- The size of the abstract is limited to 3,000 characters (including title, body of abstract, spaces, tables and graphics). The submission program will automatically calculate the size of each abstract and will not allow submissions that do not fit in the size requirements. Each section (Introduction & Objectives, Materials & Methods, Results and Conclusions) should be inserted in the individually labeled boxes.
- You can click on the relevant icons to insert tables, pictures or specific characters.
- Check spelling and grammar carefully. Direct reproduction from your electronically submitted abstract text means that any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific data will be reproduced as submitted.
- Failure to comply with the following requirements will lead to automatic rejection of the submission:
- Introduction & Objectives: Describe the purpose of the study in one sentence
- Materials & Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
- Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence
- Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them
- Use generic names. The use of commercial drug names, brands and registered trademarks is strictly prohibited. Drugs should be referred to by the active substance or pharmacological designation.
- Do not include pharmaceutical company names in the abstract.
Photographs should at all times protect the privacy and identity of the concerned individual. Eyes should be blacked out. The source of the photographs must also be declared if is not property of the Author.
Conflict of Interest
A signed Declaration of Conflict of Interest form is required from all Authors at EADV academic meetings. It includes:
- Paid work by commercial organisations, either directly or indirectly through intermediaries.
- Ownership of shares in commercial organisations.
- Reimbursement of travelling, accommodation and hospitality expenses from commercial organisations.

Copyrights and Publication of Abstracts
Submission of an abstract implies that it has been approved by all relevant Authors.
The Scientific Programming Committee reserves the right to make the final decision concerning the form of presentation.
Accepted abstracts and presentation webcasts are published in the restricted member-only area of the EADV website. Further, submission of an abstract implies the relevant Author’s consent to publication (e.g. Congress website, programs, other promotional material, etc…)
Abstracts are published as submitted. Errors will not be amended. After the deadline date of 9 September, it will no longer be possible to change or update abstracts or Authors.
